weekend run down

We had a great time in Chelan this past weekend and it was HOT!!! Made a HUGE score on some Flea Market Fancy fabric, can you say seed/sprout heaven? I about died, more on that this week!! Gotta get to bed, exhausted from being in the sun a lot, up late with the kids, not sleeping in my own comfy bed so off I go and tomorrow I will be picking the 4 winners for my May Day Giveaway, I had over 400 comments, I can't believe it!!

away for the weekend

My family and I are going to Lake Chelan for a long weekend...I am kinda hoping we don't have computer access in our room because if we do I will be GLUED to it looking through all the Sew Mama Sew giveaways! It is silly the amount of time I have sat here over the last two days...nothing has gotten done....on that note I best be going so I can pack, we want to be on the road in about an hour, HA!

Giveaway Day!!

This is my first giveaway! So why not join hundreds of other blogs on this same day for the Sew Mama Sew May Giveaway Day.

With summer upon us (at least here in Eastern Washington) when I think of summer I think of sunshine and when I think of sunshine I think of the color yellow. So I am giving away 4 fat quarters all primarily yellow. From left to right in the photo there is a Robert Kaufman print, a Wee Play print, a Timeless Treasures print and on top....from Sandi Hendersen's Farmers Market line Henna Garden.

Leave a comment on this post from today until May 31 and some lucky person will be getting a little bit of sunshine from little ol' me. And I will ship internationally. ;)

UPDATE: I am so tickled with all the comments already and it has only been one day!! For every 100 comments I receive I am going to giveaway another set of fat quarters, so far I am over 200 so that will be 2 sets.....I wonder how many sets I will be sending out? Anyone else's tushy getting sore from sitting in front of the computer so much this past 24 hours? So many awesome giveaways!

look what $47.56 bought me

Yesterday I bought all of this fabric for $47.56! WOO HOO!! On a "stay at home mom" budget I scored!!! The shop that I most frequent The Quilting Bee was having a big ol sale...they are celebrating 25 years in business so on the 25th of every month they are running a special...this months special....10 yards of "clearance room" fabric for $25.00 and after 10 yards, each yard was $2.50. The large piece on the left is a 3 yard cut, it is flannel...I love it...I am going to use it for backing on a quilt that I am going to make over the summer and donate to the Hospice House in Spokane. I got quite a lot of fabric to bulk up my stash! When I was handed my receipt the employee said "you saved $129.62" yipee!

Tomorrow is the big Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day...I hope I can get all the links to work, should be fun looking through blogland at all the different giveaways....

My Flea Market Fancy stash

A few months ago I kept seeing FMF (Flea Market Fancy) everywhere in blog land....I just loved it, I wanted some of it! I was a little obsessed about it for a few weeks (my bank account would show that too!) I now have 31 of the prints and there are still a few more out there....There are a few places you can find the very rare prints on ebay and etsy but I refuse to pay that much for fabric, no way...not on this SAHM budget!

I do love this line...there are a few prints/colors that I am not fond but when they are all together, LOVELY! I am not going to cut into any of it until I know for sure what I want to do with it....I am sure a quilt at some time will be in the works though...just a feeling that I have.....My Katie Jump Rope stash? Not as big but I am working on it......

My dad will be so proud

I'm making my dad a quilt for Father's Day, the top is finished so on to the batting and backing....my dad is THRIFTY/cheap/frugal...call it whatever you want but he never wants to pay full price for anything or pay for anything for that matter....
I have been on a sewing kick this last year and have made SEVERAL quilts and I have a lot of larger pieces of batting left over, so thinking of my thrifty father I took some of the scraps, sewed them together, used what I had...my dad will love the fact I did not spend any money on his batting and because some of the fabric in his quilt has chickens on it but that is for another post. It isn't pretty but it will do!!

1st post

This is my first post! EEEEEK....I made this jumper for E. several months ago finally, got around to using the button hole feature on my Bernina......so now it is done! I won the pattern from Quilt Taffy and then ended up buying a lot of the fabric from them too....I think it turned out pretty cute!
I posted this picture of both of the kids so J. would get equal coverage! More to come...stay tuned...I need to learn A LOT more about all of this blogging....oh yeah...for dinner........meatloaf, mashed potoatos and green beans...yahoo.....
