see katie sew ruffle wristlet

I made this wristlet last week, it really was pretty easy and only the 2nd time I have ever put a zipper in something! I got the pattern here. I used quite a funky combination of fabrics but I wanted something spunky and I think I got it! I am going to use this for part of a birthday present for a girlfriend of mine....find some goodies to go with it and in it.

I realize that most of my pictures recently have been taken outside on the grass.....up until last week it was still in the 90's here in the day time....I think autumn is finally here though...today it is 52 degress but the sun is out!! :)

pillowcases for the girls

I whipped up a few pillowcases the other day...these are SO easy, I really think it takes longer to cut them out then the actual putting them all together...I found the tutorial over a year ago here. From top to bottom they are for my daughter, my niece Gracie and my niece Abigail, Abigail will be receiving hers this weekend along with the quilt I made her...We will be seeing Gracie in a few weeks when we go and visit my brother in Portland.

I have to say though, this one is my favorite...I just love the pinks with the blue, I think Emily loves it too. :)

a few finished things

I have been working my buns off the past year or so getting a lot of WIP's finished and here are a few of them....I just got these quilts back from the quilter, I am really happy with them....This large aqua/blue/red/pink quilt is for Emily, she just loves it, says it is real cozy. I used the tutorial from this blog.

This pinwheel quilt is for our family room...I used the tutorial from this blog.

And this quilt was from my own little pea brain....it was originally going to be for my daughter but after I made it I realized it was not big enough for her bed so I started the coin quilt....I am giving this one to my niece for her room/bed...she will be 7 at the end of the month...she will love it I'm sure...she thinks Auntie can make anything....the quilting on this one just screams little girl....hot pink and butterflies.

yipee!! I won something

Actually I think I won 8 things!!!! I am thrilled!! check it out! I am speechless and believe me that NEVER happens, yippee!!!!!! I had a few minutes to myself...started looking through some blogs and came across this...see the "Kristine Hanson"...that is ME!!! Now all I need to do is win the weekly drawing from Quilt Taffy!!! I have not won something from them in over a year, hint hint Des and Corrie! :) I don't know if you ladies know this or not but Quilt Taffy is how I got into the "blog world". I did not even know what a blog was until last summer when I bought some fabric off of ebay from these two sisters....with an order from them they send a cute little coaster with their blog address and the rest is history!
